Diablo 4 Item Upgrades
The item upgrade allows players to increase the item level for equippable items such as trinkets, weapons, and armor within a certain amount. You can upgrade item s at any NPC that accepts the appropriate currency.
Slots are used to add components to upgrade equipment in order to gain attribute bonuses and additional effects. These are mostly slot-restricted, but there are some universal upgrades.
Rerolling
In Diablo 4, a player can roll back an upgrade for an item. This is done through the Level Up mechanic, which pauses the game and displays the list of four randomly chosen upgrades. The player can select one of the upgrades and continue the battle. Rerolling costs the same as a normal Level Up. However, players must be careful when selecting an upgrade as they won't know what the new stats will be until the item is changed.
The item's rarity and the level of its upgrade determine it. Each level of an item's upgrade increases its power base by +1. A random extra stat may also be enhanced along with the primary bonus. Requirements

They can also be found in random drops or looted from other players.
There is no solution to the "not worth it" feeling that some players experience when upgrading certain items. In ideal scenarios, the game would give more information about an upgrade in its compare interface, for instance "X stats gained and the loss of X stats." This is not practical to implement because of the complexity of the comparison process. There isn't enough room in the UI to make it work.
Another option is to create an application that checks the requirements for upgrading an item prior to allowing it to be upgraded. This is a great option for systems that have a limited number of items that can be upgraded and a simple upgrade dependency. An example of this is a sword that can be upgraded from Sword +2 to Sword +2. However, there are exceptions for glyphs that can be salvaged using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool.
Depending on the type of item, upgrading an item can cost Dilithium or gold. Additionally, many upgrades require Flightstones and/or crests. The amount of Flightstones and Crests needed to upgrade an item is determined by the level of the item. Blizzard also sets a maximum level for upgrades. Upgrades to the highest upgrade level can be costly, especially if you're upgrading PvE gear.
Upgrades can also alter a weapon's ammunition or damage die size. They can also change its special weapon properties, such as its unwieldy or operative property, or hand requirement. Certain upgrades can alter the appearance of a weapon.
While increasing stats is the primary purpose of upgrading items, you should consider the costs associated with upgrading an item prior to making the decision.
